Founders' Alignment

Help

The plain-English guide

How this app works

Each founder answers the same questions on their own. Nobody sees anyone else's answer until they've given their own, so nobody is swayed by what someone else said first.

What the labels mean

Resolved means you all gave the same answer, or close enough. Let's talk about this means you differ and should discuss it. Review together is for written answers you need to read side by side. Waiting means someone hasn't answered yet.

Sealed questions

A few sensitive numbers, such as the lowest price you'd sell for, stay hidden even after everyone has answered. The app only says whether you're close or far apart until every founder presses Reveal.

Agreeing an outcome

When you settle a difference, one founder writes down what you agreed. It only counts once every other founder has confirmed the same wording.

At the end

Export the agreed positions and take them to a lawyer, who turns them into your founders' agreement and articles of association. This app helps you agree. It is not legal advice.

General information about UK practice. Not legal advice.

For two to eight co-founders

Agree the terms while you still agree on everything.

Equity, vesting, roles, money, leaving and selling. Each founder answers privately, you see where you already agree, and you settle the rest before a lawyer drafts your founders' agreement.

  1. 1

    Answer privately

Every founder answers the same questions on their own. Nobody sees anyone else's answer until they've given their own.

  2. 2

    See where you stand

The app compares your answers, marks what's already agreed and lines up what needs a conversation, big decisions first.

  3. 3

    Agree it together

Write down what you agreed. It only counts once every founder has confirmed the same wording.

  4. 4

    Export and sign

Take the agreed positions to your lawyer, then sign documents in the app with a full record.

Sign in or get started

New here? Make an account, then invite your co-founders by email.

Every sign-in also asks for a 6-digit code we email you, so a password alone can't get anyone in.

Go as deep as you need

Whoever sets the company up chooses how many questions to answer and which subjects to cover. Every question explains itself in plain English, and you can see what most UK startups do.
